Buy the WishCare Sunscreen Body Lotion →Short answer
Everyone looks after their face at Puja, but what burns is the neck, the open back of a blouse, the arms and the feet. In the morning, put body sunscreen on exposed skin, such as Wishcare Sunscreen Body Lotion SPF50 or Deconstruct Detan Sunscreen Body Lotion SPF50. At the pandal, run a sun stick over the neck every 2–3 hours. At night, body lotion after your bath and a richer cream on elbows and heels. For heat rash under heavy fabric, cool water and loose cotton; for itching under artificial jewellery, take it off, and if a rash spreads or oozes, see a doctor.
The face routine is in Puja Day Skincare: Morning, Pandal and Night. This guide covers body skin.

Neck and the open-back blouse
A boat-neck or deep-back blouse leaves much of the back in the sun all day. You cannot reach it, so it gets skipped, and by afternoon there is a red mark in the shape of the blouse cut.
- How much: about one teaspoon of body sunscreen for the open back and nape, half a teaspoon more for the front of the neck and chest.
- When: before you put the blouse on; let it dry for five minutes so it marks the fabric less.
- Who: ask your mother, sister or a friend. The middle of the back is almost always missed.
- Out: run the sun stick over the neck and nape every 2–3 hours. Draping the anchal over your shoulders at midday helps.
Do not use body sunscreen on the face unless the label says so. Comparisons: Which Sunscreen for Puja.
Arms and hands
Anjali, carrying prasad, sitting in a rickshaw: the backs of the hands and the arms are in the sun all day, and hand washing removes sunscreen fast. Use half a teaspoon per arm in the morning and reapply a little to the backs of the hands after each wash. Do not rub over mehendi or alta.
Dry elbows and feet in sandals
- At night: wash and dry, then a rich ceramide cream such as CeraVe Moisturizing Cream on elbows and heels; cotton socks overnight help.
- No hard scrubbing. A gentle pumice on wet feet two or three days before Puja, not on the day.
- New sandals? Wear them at home for a few hours before Shashthi. Do not pop blisters; keep them clean and covered.
Heat rash under heavy fabric, and underarms
Benarasi, katan and silk panjabis do not breathe. Sweat gets trapped at the waist, back, neck and underarms, and small itchy red bumps appear.
- Wear a cotton petticoat or cotton vest underneath.
- No heavy lotion or oil on heat rash; it traps more sweat.
- At home, a cool or plain-water shower and pat dry. A thin layer of Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel can feel cooling; patch test on the inner arm.
Underarms: shave or wax two or three days before Puja, not that morning. Apply Rexona Roll-On to dry skin at night and again in the morning if needed. Do not start a new underarm cream in the Puja week.
Artificial jewellery irritation
- Make a barrier: paint clear nail polish on the side that touches skin the night before. Before a necklace, apply a little moisturiser to the neck and let it dry.
- Earrings: heavy ones for a few hours, not all day.
- Take jewellery off at night and rinse the neck and earlobes.
- If itching starts, do not wear that piece again that day.
- If a rash spreads, blisters or oozes, see a doctor rather than trying creams. The same goes for sindoor or alta allergy: After Sindoor Khela.
Body lotion at night
Apply body lotion while skin is still slightly damp after your bath: two to three teaspoons for arms, legs and back. For dry skin, CeraVe Moisturising Lotion for Dry to Very Dry Skin absorbs quickly. No body sunscreen at night. Lips: Vaseline Lip Therapy at night, Fix Derma Lip Shield SPF50 by day. Patch test a new lotion on the inner elbow for two days.
For men: neck and forearms in a panjabi
An open panjabi collar and rolled sleeves leave the nape, the V of the neck and the forearms in the sun. Extend your face sunscreen to the neck and nape, and use body sunscreen on rolled-up forearms. A cotton vest under a silk panjabi absorbs sweat and keeps sunscreen off the collar. Full routine: Men's Skincare for Puja.
In your bag
Sun stick, tissues, lip balm, a safety pin and a small pouch to put jewellery in.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need sunscreen on my body during Puja?
Yes, on the neck, the open back of a blouse, the arms and the backs of the hands. Use about a teaspoon for the back and nape, and reapply a sun stick to the neck every 2 to 3 hours outdoors.
How do I stop artificial jewellery from irritating my skin?
Paint clear nail polish on the side that touches your skin, wear heavy earrings for a few hours rather than all day, and take jewellery off at night. If a rash spreads, blisters or oozes, see a doctor.
What helps heat rash under a heavy sari or silk panjabi?
Wear a cotton layer underneath, avoid heavy lotion or oil on the rash, and take a cool shower when you get home. If it does not settle in a few days or becomes painful, see a doctor.
When should I apply body lotion during Puja?
At night, after your bath, while skin is still slightly damp. Use a richer cream on elbows and heels, and skip body sunscreen at night.
Where can I buy an authentic body lotion with SPF in Bangladesh?
Buy from a seller who can show the importer invoice and batch number for that specific body lotion rather than relying on marketplace photos. Match the batch code on the bottle to the outer box before you rely on it as the main sunscreen protecting your body during Puja.
How can I tell if a body lotion or sunscreen I bought is authentic?
Check that the batch code on the bottle matches the one on the box, make sure the pump or cap seal is intact, and be cautious if the texture feels unusually sticky or the scent is off. Blurry printing or a misspelled label is also a sign it may not be genuine.
