Quick answer
Dry-resistant skin tolerates actives well but has little lipid to spare. Build the base rich enough and it handles almost anything.

Sensitivity is not what holds this skin back — lipid supply is. Actives do not sting, but they do dry it further, and the damage shows as flaking and rough texture rather than stinging and redness. So the fix is not gentler actives; it is a richer base underneath them.
1. Get the moisturizer right before adding anything
Ceramides, a cream or balm texture, applied on damp skin twice a day. This is the whole foundation.
2. Buffer, and you can use more
Moisturizer first, then the active on top. Buffering costs a little potency and buys a lot of tolerance for dry skin.
3. Retinoids work well here — expect dryness, not irritation
Start twice a week and build. Increased flaking in the first month is normal; stinging is not.
4. Prefer lactic acid over glycolic
Lactic acid is also a humectant, so it exfoliates while adding water. Glycolic is more drying at the same strength.
5. Do not use a foaming cleanser to "balance" the richness
The cleanser is where dry skin is most often undone, regardless of how good the moisturizer is.
In winter, dial back
From November, Dhaka humidity drops below 40%. Even resistant dry skin has less margin then — reduce active nights rather than adding more cream to compensate.
